When in Texas, do as the Texan’s do, and that means be a Cowboy’s fan. What a bettter way to do that than go to their training camp?! Last weekend, I had the joy of attending my first ever NFL training camp for the Dallas Cowboys at the San Antonio Alamodome. It was exciting for the first half hour or so,
but since I don’t know any of the players, nor am I interested in the special team plays,
it was just watching a bunch of guys run around the field.
B was really excited about going to training camp, and I was interested to see what it was all about. My morning run might have been to blame, but after an hour and half, I was almost falling asleep. What can I say, I’m not really a football fan.
While we were at the practice, I was thinking about the benefits of living in a city. I am definitely a small town girl, and miss the quiet, country life, but to go to a NFL training camp back home would mean driving 2 1/2 hours. On Saturday, Ben and I got on our bikes and rode about 10 minutes downtown to the Riverwalk, had lunch and then five more minutes to the Alamodome. No worrying about parking, traffic and best of all, (minus lunch) it was free!
